HWY 175 - Lake County Eating, Middletown & Cobb, CA
7 Attachment(s) HWY 175 - Lake County Eating, Middletown & Cobb, CA

175 at Middletown there is Mt. St. Helena brewery. Pizza is good there. They also have a lot of different rib/wing plates. At the top of Cobb Mountain on 175 take a right turn at Golf Dr. and there is a restaurant called Rob Roys. There isn't a sign, but it is the only parking lot on the left side of the road within 200 yards of the main hwy. They have a lot of good stuff there. From there, you can count the number of turns from Cobb to Hopland and beyond.

High Hand Conservatory
High Hand Conservatory

I've been there 3 times for lunch in the last year. Never been disappointed. Prices are a little high, but the food and atmosphere is exceptional. Some of the vegetables and herbs are from their own garden.

One of my favorite stops in the Sierra, err, at least while on 395. Good food, shade when it's hot and decent rest rooms. Pics are from their site: http://confesschrist.com/wb/index.php

Best breakfast in the Eastern Sierra!

Across the street in the Walker River Lodge, Hays Street Cafe is open for breakfast and lunch. Well known to riders on that part of Hwy 395.

My "must do" lunch stop (and excuse...or is it other way round?) to ride Hwy 25: Harris Ranch Restaurant. Yeah, its a '70s style steak & baked potato restaurant...but one of the best!

Right next to the post office, there's a deli counter in the country store. They make a great sandwich (and the world's best cinnamon rolls).

HENRY'S FAMOUS BARBEQUE Monterey CA
2 Attachment(s) HENRY'S FAMOUS BARBEQUE Monterey CA

Sitting for hours on end in the SCRAMP First Aid trailer tends to drive conversation away from racing and tourism and eventually politics and toward food, a commodity Monterey has an abundance of in one form or another. I tend to gravitate toward venues with little or no chain affilliation and strong local support. This last race Audrey and I were bestowed a tastey nugget in the form of Henry's Famous Barbeque. Monica, mentioned his project, knowing my abhorrance of places with names... Read more

Hungry for Hungarian?
Hungry for Hungarian?

"Paprika" sounds like Mexican but actually the restaurant is owned by a European (Hungarian) and serves great lunch menu as well as dinner. I did not have a chance to see their wine selection but they have plenty to choose from. We had bean and ham hock soup, which has great texture (adding green peas mashed), spices, and of course ham hock. I had a bagel (not sure if it is home-made) and sheep cheese (has sharp after taste), mayo, mustard, slices of tomatoes and cucumbers. Great... Read more

Hwy 29 Cafe
Hwy 29 Cafe
No reservations

The Hwy. 29 Cafe has all the ingredients for a great truckstop — great food, enormous portions, cheap prices, casual atmosphere, and fast service. What once used to be a small roadside truckstop has now more than doubled in size and popularity — guess we're not the only ones who have recommended this cafe to a friend. Whenever we drive up to Napa, we like to stop by for breakfast or lunch.

Hooters San Francisco
1 Attachment(s) Hooters San Francisco

My Buddy and I went to the SF Hooters on Sat. night. We got there about 11;30pm and just wanted to check it out. Right away, I noticed the service was rather 'spotty'. The ladies seemed more interested in talking to each other than taking our order. When we finally did get some service, we noticed that the prices were too high for the small quantity of food you received. The food was ok, but my bill was $12.50 for chicken appetizers and 1 coke. The worst part was this;... Read more

Half Moon Bay Mexican Restaurant ??

I recall a really good Mexican restaurant on HWY 1 somewhere around Half Moon Bay. It had great food, great atmosphere, and great paint. I likely will be riding that way this weekend. Anyone have any recollection or name or location??

Hwy 155 Kernville- Airport greasy spoon.
5 Attachment(s) Hwy 155 Kernville- Airport greasy spoon.

Located on the east side of Lake Isabella, about 2 miles south of Kernville at the airport. You can come up from Glennville (Hwy155) or the Mighty Kern Canyon (Hwy 178). Find Kernville. The BEST hamburger I have ever eaten! Warning, it is HUGE...huge enough so that they sell it in halves. My first trip there, I was hungry and ordered a whole one (with a small fries). :eat The waitress looked at me strangely (and no, not like this :love ) . When she brought it to my table, I... Hog Island Oyster Company - Hwy 1 (Marshall)
Hog Island Oyster Company - Hwy 1 (Marshall)

This is one of those places a person either loves or just comes to look around and not eat. You either love the food or you don't! One of my regular stops when I do my rides up north to Hwy 1 (which is at least once a month) is the Hog Island Oyster Company. I didn't start out liking oysters, but always loved seafood. Then one day I sampled some fresh oysters with some great sauce on them and I was hooked. I love going to this place not only for the great menu, but also... Read more
