My GPS Data Logger

This is my GPS system for logging data unto the video at 4x per second.

(select watch in HIGH QUALITY) on YouTube

On the data side, while doing this video realtime, it writes a Google Earth KML format file, or data text files in either Latitude & Longitude or Universal Transverse Mercator units for later post processing. Attached is a KML file. Copy and double click and Google Earth will come up with the plot. Vertical lines are the .25 second data points.

Here's a track day data logger system getting RPM, Speed and Gear info from the bike during a track day session on my Zx-6R.

And a Sunday ride with some friends.

Re: My GPS Data Logger

The videos are from two different systems - GPS & Bike Data Logger. Both are microcontroller based and just interfaces various subsystems to produce the end product.

Here's the hardware for the GPS system along with other videos using it. It fits in a camelback pack with the bullet cams on the helmet

I posted the bike datalogger system awhile back. This shows the hardware in the tail end of my zx6r. I tap into the signals going to the instrument cluster to get speed and rpm, gear # is calculated, brake is from front lever, throttle from Throttle Position Sensor. Lots of wires!
