Talkin' Burgers

One of my favorite rides for a burger is what I call the "Stoneyford/Sutter Buttes" ride. This is a beautiful ride through the Capay Valley along Hwy. 16 past Cache Creek and then east on Hwy. 20. Take Sites Lodago Rd. through Stoneyford and head north to Elk Creek. East on Hwy. 162 to the city of Willows and lunch at www.thelaststandupbar.com The Last Stand Up is a fun place with great food and awesome prices. If you have a group and call ahead, they will set the back room up for you. After lunch I go south on Hwy. 45 to Knights Landing. Along the way you get a great view of the Sutter Buttes, also known as the smallest mountain range in the world. I then make my way home via the freeway. I've done this ride in the Spring and Fall. Both are good but in the Spring, all of the creeks are running and the hills are green.

Thanks for this!! I've run all of those areas in parts, but I've never put it together into a complete ride, and hadn't heard of The Last Stand. I'll put this one in the planner as a future route.

Re: Talkin' Burgers

My sister lives in Willows and has spoken of the The Last Stand before. It's apparently true to it's name, California's last, real stand-up bar. She confirms the food good, and the place is indeed a fave with motorcyclists in that area. I will be up that way next week...right about lunchtime. It's on my list for sure!

Nothing better than a good hamburger run. Come spring if you take the ride again and are looking for company I would love to tag along.

Re: Talkin' Burgers

Allison, Perhaps you should start a Talkin' WiFi thread instead. This thread is about people talking about burgers, not to hear that you only stop to "connect".
