So ive crashed.

Well i got crashed into in any case. was overtaking a car on a tiny road where the speedlimit was 15. i kick my bike down a gear and start passing.
all of the sudden he whips out to the left and we ram right into each other, squeezing my leg between the bike and the car.

No serious injuries, thank god. No broken bones, but my leg is hurting quite a bit, but i have a 12pack of pain medication in the fridge waiting to help me with that.

Was he turning off somewhere or ramming you?

Re: So ive crashed.

Dang Mats, that sucks!

I am glad you were not badly injured (you did get checked out by a medico, RIGHT?) How much damage to your bike?

And please be careful with the liquid pain relievers...they do very little to reduce swelling and inflamation. Besides, you don't want to fall down and reinjure your injury!

Best of luck with the insurance B.S.

Re: So ive crashed.

Mats, sorry to hear this and I hope you and your bike are back on the road soon. Did this happen around town, or while cruising down Hwy 1? I'm getting back into my ride frame of mind again. Let me know if you need any help with the bike. I'm more than glad to provide assistance and I look forward to enjoying another ride with you. Maybe a Morrow Bay run to visit with Alan and crew?

Tom

Re: So ive crashed.

thanks for the kind words guys.

The bike is OK, the framseliders did their job.

doctors predictions are ill be 100% well in two weeks, and im starting to belive him as the pain has dropped considerably within the last two hours. On the other hand that might just be the liquid pain medication kicking in.

Tom, thanks for the offer, i am more than up for going for a spin down highway 1 asap(in 2 weeks +) .

Re: So ive crashed.

Mats,
First off....so glad you are ok!!! That is something to be quite thankful for also it was good to have a doctor check you, as u never know when adrenaline has kicked in how deeply you are injured.

The speed limit was 15?? Is that a school zone or a defined urban area? Was there a double yellow line? What made u decide to pass?? I am NOT being critical here, just wondering what went wrong in this situation as it sounds like it could possibly have been avoided.

Glad you are ok!

mats: 0 car: 1

and the thing is, you're totally gonna be faulted for it. 15mph speed limit sounds like a private road...in which case, it's non-DOT... enforcement isn't the same on those kinda roads.

it's never a good idea to pass when there are roads and/or driveways on the left...you never know what's gonna happen. well..now you do.

rookie move. you're forgiven. glad you're not dead.

Mats, glad to hear you're OK. Two weeks is nothing compared to what it could have been. Mend fast to ride again!
