Quincy makes for a great base for local riding. Theres so much close by, Feather River Canyon, Gold Lakes, Beckwourth Genesee Rd, Antelope Lake, Lassen Park. Pick a direction and you'll find some great roads to ride. Burney isn't that far either, of course I rode thru Burney on my way to get pizza......in Mt Shasta.

I'm not from Quincy but I have to agree. A large group of us stayed there on a couple different rides in the past few years and the motels were fine, as well as the restaurants! The riding in the area......some of the best in the state.

Burney is nice also, but if I had to choose between the two, the Quincy/Chester area would get my vote.

Ok so now we heard it, should we reconsider Quincy? I know that J.C always has good info on areas to ride and the accomodations. We need some input. I would have no problem changing.

I think we should just stick with Burney. All the riders from the south will have the option to cut thru some of Quincy's riding territory going north and then south for the return home. I myself might cut down that way on my way home too (being I'm not going straight home). I'll be taking the 4th of July week off, so I will have plenty of time to ride where ever I want. Maybe my wife will want to come along (we'll see).

Yeah Ken I agree, Burney is good. I probably won't be going home after the weekend either got a few more days of extra freedom and I'm gonna use it!

Whoa......didn't mean to start a mutiny. I came late to the party.....started the first page, the first post. I saw where it was mentioned either Quincy or Burney then somebody posted second or third hand info. about Quincy. When I read Bandit 12's response, I just chimed in my .02 cents worth about the area.

Not suggesting that the location be changed........just saying that there's nothing wrong with Quincy and that's my first hand experience. Maybe a location for a second ride.....either earlier or later in the year.

Re: Oregonian & Californian Pashnits Ride 2012

SO; JCZ
Are you going to come join this riding party?
This is the second annual Or./Ca. Gathering. We have been meeting somewhere in the state of Jefferson, so that the riders from LA area can join in. Maybe some year we'll meet in southern Oregon, so the Washington Pashnits can attend too.
I heard of a request from someone down south about a ride to the "Lost Coast area". I would also go for that, but maybe in Sept. 2013 for the Or./Ca. ride.

Not sure we'll be making this one. We'll just be returning from Colorado. But who knows.....might make it up for Sat. evening.

Been to the Pashnit Gathering at Sopagio Springs a couple of times.
