Ken... If you can tag along with Ken(orbiker) He is great to ride with and knows all the cool places to go.

I haven't heard that saying in many, many years JC.

I think it might have originated in your area ( Sacratomato ).

Maybe someone in the local area should plan a few routes to take all of us non-locals on. A tour guide out in front of the pack.

Re: Oregonian & Californian Pashnits Ride 2012

I'm not exactly local to that area (Elk Grove to Burney is about 250 miles I believe) however, Skibold laid out a ride that I think would be a great longer ride for one of the days......about 283 miles and about 7 hours of ride time....probably figure in a couple more hours for lunch, kodak moments, BS time at some of the stops.

Not sure if anybody/everybody would want to stop at Burney Falls or the McCloud Falls. Both are very intersting in their own ways and totally different from each other. That would eat up some of that parking lot time.

This route would give some long straight aways and a few sweepers as well as some of the eastern side of the Trinity Alps up near Weaverville.

Here's the map that Skibold laid out....

See there.......and I thought it probably came from the grape vineyards......next valley over.

As a youngster, I lived in the middle of a grape vineyard for a time......and in the midde of a tomatoe field. So I guess either would apply.

I myself, do not have any desire to come even close to Redding. Maybe we could circle around or thru Lassen.
