Breaking the old chain on the Pashnit Busa with the Motion Pro Chain Breaker & Riveting Tool
 |
Understanding your Chain Breaker & Riveting Tool
Chain Breakers are really useful tools to have in your workshop. If you work on your own bike, you will eventually need one of these tools sooner or later. With proper use, a Chain Breaker will last you for years and is an excellent investment. Everything is easy when you have the right tool!
The chain breaker works to push out the pins in your chain. After grinding down the riveted mushroomed part of the pin, the Chain Tool is simply clamped down and the pin is pushed out. When the new chain is installed, the Riveting Tool when clamped down with a wrench will mushroom over the new master link. If you have a high-horsepower motorcycle, it's not recommended to use clip-type master links. You'll become invaribly convinced of this if you ever have a master link fail while riding as I did some years back. Scary stuff to break a chain.
Installing your new chain properly will ensure thousands of miles of trouble free use of your new chain! Also see Chain Oilers... |
