Pipercross air filters consistently outperform paper and cotton-gauze rivals to supply air to the engine - even when dirty. Pipercross foam is the secret to a light weight, long life performance air filter. This is thanks to the multilaminate construction used in every Pipercross performance air filter. Layers of varying porosity foam all work together to trap different sized particles.
Through extensive research and testing using the SAE J726c air cleaner test, Pipercross have developed the perfect combination of filter density and thickness of each layer. Where Pipercross filters are impregnated with the dirt retention additive, the filtration performance is greater enhanced - the additive helps the foam to swell, opening pores whilst providing a "sticky" layer to hold more dirt. This greater dirt capacity translates to longer life and as Pipercross filters are washable, there is no waste - helping the environment and your wallet!
Pipercross filters have helped many race teams win major championships on the British, European and World stage. Pipercross is constantly striving to push the envelope of air filter design in both performance and efficiency. After 30 years of hard work and innovation, Pipercross is at the cutting edge of motorcycle intake design and technology.
Pipercross performance filters are used by Aston Martin, Cosworth, M-Sport WRC, Lotus, Mercedes, TRD, and motorcycle racing teams Xerox Ducati Junior (WSS) and Rizla Suzuki (BSB). |

| The Spiel - Why Pipercross is More Better!
Almost like those "Dyson" vacuum commercials, a big benefit of the Pipercross technology is that their filters limit the amount of airbox pressure drop while dirty. In dust-flow testing at 150CFM, the Pipercross filter went nearly 4 times longer than cotton gauze media (used by the "other" performance filter makers) at the same dust flow rate before suffering major pressure drop. And at the point where cotton gauze failed to sustain minimum acceptable airflow, Pipercross in fact only suffered 11% flow reduction.
Compared to the cotton gauze filters, Pipercross foam is able to retain more fine particles; over 4% more fine particle filtration at 98.68% versus 94.60% for cotton gauze. Sacrificing particle filtration for more airflow has always been a challenge for the brands that use cotton gauze media.
In terms of total "net" dust particle retained, Pipercross had nearly triple the total dust retention during the course of the test, so not only did it flow as well as other "top brand" race filters when clean, but when they became clogged, it kept flowing air while letting less dust through to harm the engine internals. |
